Oh Givenchy...

Fellow fashion addicts...I have your fix of Parisian fashions. Givenchy Spring 09Couture is absolutely amazing. The collection is very architectural and the use of pastel colors adds softness to the designs. On a completely different note.I'm in love with the runway (those flower petals are to die for).

Here are my favorite looks and yes I would wear every single one of them!

Let them eat cake: Dior Spring 09

Sigh* I just love this time of year. Fashion week season always helps me ease those winter blues. I must admit Galliano's couture collection for Dior made me forget all about the 6" of snow piled up on my driveway. The models looked so dreamy in a fairy tale kind of way and the colors and fabrics were exquisite. Once again, here are some of my favorite looks.Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my laptop.
p.s: On a completely different note how come Chanel Iman is the only model without her hands on her waist? Somebody is not following instructions.

Lookbook: McQueen for Target

Some of you may recall that I was very excited about the news of a McQueen collection for target back in October. The wait is over now and the lookbook is finally out! I should be happy right?...W-R-O-N-G. I must say I was a bit disappointed, the collection seems too blah for what we had grown accustomed to expect from Alexander McQueen (Yawn! I almost fell asleep flipping through the pages). Now that I'm done complaining, here is a compilation of my FAVORITE looks.

Yes She did!

First lady Michelle Obama hit a fashion homerun at the Neighborhood Innauguration Ball with her Jason Wu dress. She looked absolutely stunning! I wish I could say the same for her Isabel Toledo mustard ensemble worn earlier today at the swearing-in ceremony.

I never felt like I wanted to have a shoe so badly until I laid eyes on this gorgeous Givenchy masterpiece..Truly a work of art..I usually wait till the items I'm coveting go on sale..In fact I don't recall the last time I paid full price for anything in my wardrobe..but this Givenchy feather sandals are worth me breaking the rules! Oh No! What a faux pas!

Katie Holmes is the new face of Miu Miu! I seriousely don't get this celebrity fashion craze. Please bring back the days where supemodels graced the cover of magazines and ads!

This is the first released ad. It is so blah IMO. Katie Holmes's face looks so weird courtesy of our dear friend Photoshop.

Melancholy no more!

Givenchy is definitely making a comeback and I'm so very happy this is finally happening. I'm sure if Audrey Hepburn was still alive she will be jumping up and down in her cigarette pants and flats. Anyways, for the past few years I wasn't very impressed with Givenchy handbags until I came across the Melancholia bag and I can honestly say that it's definitely on top of my list at the moment. This bag is available at Barneys for $999 (Originally $1675). Gotta love those sales!

Coup de coeur

So I'm already thinking about spring and summer..trust me if you lived in below zero winter weather like me you would be doing the same! So anyways, I've been browsing through the resort collection of various designers and I just fell in love with, dare I say? an espadrille! There, I said it..I know, I don't even like espadrilles..but these are so different, they speak to me, and I'm already picturing us together strolling somewhere in the French Riviera.

These awesome shoes are Gucci. They are called Venere and will set you back around $775. I really developed a love/hate relationship with Gucci since Tom Ford left. His replacement Frida Gianini puzzles me..Sometimes she comes up with something soooooooo great like this shoe, or the Hysteria bag, or the babouska studded boots..but then sometimes she really comes up with something atrocious and ugly..like the tattoo heart collection and I think it's best if I stop there.

Au revoir 08..Bonjour 09!!!

I know I haven't posted in a while but I've been out of town catching up with old friends!

I feel very good about 2009. It just feels like a decisive year for me in so many aspects of my life. Normally I would freak out because it's human nature to dislike and fear change; however, my new year resolution is to live in the moment and welcome change and obstacles as opportunities for me to grow and become even more amazing!

Happy new year to you all!
